Evening tarpon fishing in the Florida Keys

EVENING TARPON TRIP

Chase the Silver King in the golden hour. Our Evening Tarpon Trip puts you right where the action happens — bridges, channels, and shadow lines; where tarpon roll, feed, and explode on bait at sunset. Perfect for families, first-timers, and anyone ready to experience true Florida Keys adrenaline.

MEET THE SILVER KING

Tarpon are one of the most iconic gamefish in the Florida Keys. Known as the “Silver King” for their bright, metallic scales and massive size, these fish can grow up to 7–8 feet long and over 200 pounds. They’ve existed for more than 100 million years, making every encounter feel like fishing with a prehistoric legend.

You’ll often see tarpon roll at the surface — coming up to gulp air using a specialized lung-like bladder. When that silver back pops up in the sunset glow… you know you’re in the right spot.

WHY EVENING IS PRIME TARPON TIME

Sunset is one of the most productive windows to target tarpon in Islamorada. As the light drops, baitfish gather around bridges, shadow lines, and channel edges, and tarpon slide in to feed.

Evening trips offer:

  • Increased rolling activity

  • Strong tidal movement

  • Tarpon moving shallower and tighter to structure

It’s the perfect blend of low light, moving water, and hungry fish — and why evening trips consistently deliver unforgettable action.

*It is never our intention to feed tarpon to sharks... but, as you can see, it happens on occasion- especially during the evening.

CONSERVATION IN MIND

Tarpon are slow-growing, long-lived fish, with many living 50+ years. They don’t reach adulthood until around 10 years old, which is why protecting the species matters.

On our trips, we follow responsible, ethical catch-and-release practices:

  • Fighting fish efficiently with proper gear

  • Keeping tarpon in the water as much as possible

  • Supporting fish boat-side until they’re ready to swim off strong

We’re proud to help preserve a world-class fishery for future generations of anglers.
